Located about four miles south of the world famous horse racing town of Newmarket, Kirtling is a quiet village with a long history. Originally known as Catlidge, Kirtling is nestled between farm land and studs with a multitude of foot and bridle paths tracking across paddocks and fields. Our most noteable landmark is Kirtling Towers (in the main photograph to the right), privately owned but occaisionally open to the public.

If you are planning a visit for racing or horse related business, a base from which you can easily reach Cambridge, Ely, Bury St Edmunds and the East Coast or if you're just looking for a quiet retreat, Kirtling is the village for you.

Nearby there are a host of pubs serving fine ales and food, such as The Red Lion, The Three Blackbirds, the Star Inn Pub & Restaurant (Spanish cuisine), The Old Plough and The Three Tuns.
